Clinic Description: The clinic will involve falling exercises, in small increments. We won’t progress you to lead falls until you are comfortable with toprope falls.

You’ll learn to:
• Fall properly and safely
• Give a cushioned belay
• Assess risks better
• Distinguish between no- and yes-fall zones
• Deal with fear of falling
• Focus on what you can control

Investment: $79 for non-members; $69 for gym members; limit 6/clinic

Requirement for class:
• It’s helpful if you’ve read The Rock Warrior’s Way and/or Espresso Lessons books, but it isn’t absolutely necessary.
• The clinic seems to be best for those who fear falling or lack commitment.
• You do need to know the fundamentals of knots, belaying, basic climbing skills, and at least 6 months of consistent climbing experience.

Equipment Needed:
• Harness, shoes, belay device, and a helmet (if you have one). The gym usually provides lead ropes and sometimes helmets.
