Description: This 3-day camp addresses falling directly to help improve commitment. We do progressive falling practice on day one. On day two, we do movement, breathing, resting, and body/mind awareness exercises. On day three, we apply everything to a goal route. You’ll leave understanding how to take appropriate risk and how to commit to those risks.

You’ll learn:

  • How to give a dynamic (cushioned) belay
  • How to fall safely
  • Advanced falling techniques, such as falling while committing
  • Better mental awareness by learning the mind’s limitations
  • Better body awareness by learning how to trust it
  • To distinguish between no-fall and yes-fall zones
  • To make appropriate risk decisions
  • To rest efficiently
  • To develop flow and momentum
  • To deal with climbing stress
  • To improve problem-solving skills
  • Reduce fear, and more

Pre-requisites:

  • Able to toprope 5.8 in a gym with no falls
  • Climb indoors/outdoors at least 1-2 times per week
  • At least 6 months of continuous climbing experience within the last year
