“I learned an overall process to teach myself to become a better climber. I learned a process that gives me the power to refine my skills. The mountain of small things that I have learned in these few days already improved my climbing ability more than I thought possible. Thank you!”
–Jason

“[I learned] attention to the foot/hand placements, commit to taking a risk, resting and looking at the next moves/rest, using breathing to calm fear. Thank you very much! You are a great teacher!”

“[I learned to] separate the climbing and resting and focusing on these as they present themselves. I want to re-read your books and focus these principles when at the climbing gym and outside.”
–John

“This camp made me feel appreciated that I knew my climbing abilities and made me push harder so I could get stronger and move past my fear of falling.”
–Justine

“The camp helped me by showing me different ways to train my body to do different things. I feel so much more confident about falling, now that I know how to react to it. I also experienced situations, such as lead climbing outdoors, that will make climbing in a gym completely different, but may seem not nearly as hard.”
–Charle
I am wondering if you still have any spots available for this outdoor camp.
Many thanks,
Lorraine Winger
Hi Lorraine, Yes, I believe we do. Check with Red River Outdoors to see and also to register. They have the final count. Thanks for asking: http://redriveroutdoors.com/
Arno
is this camp appropriate for a climber who leads easy 5.10 and wants to climb 11′s. I really don’t like to top rope.
Thanks
Hi Lance,
This camp is full, but we have more coming up at the New River Gorge and North Carolina in October. Also other locations out West. Check our Events page for details.
Now, to answer your question. Yes, your climbing ability is appropriate for this camp. Many exercises are on toprope to practice on the quality of movement, resting, and commitment without the distraction of being on lead. But, some are on lead as we progress on falling practice and applying all learned skills.
Does this answer your question? Arno
Hi Lorraine, The Red camp is full but we have one coming up in Oct at North Carolina and New River Gorge, WV. Would any of these work for you? Arno

Thank you so very much for the amazing opportunity that Justine experienced last weekend. She is SO excited and much more confident about the upcoming lead climbing season. She was already saying last night that she feels so much stronger now. This camp was the best thing for her climbing and confidence and we will definitely do something similar next summer. I will sign her up for the e training and keep checking back for any other instruction that you may have posted. Many thanks again, Lorraine W
