  1. Howdy!
Looks like you’ll be coming thru the Southwest in March; might you be interested in an author event in Telluride? We sold a steady number of your books over the years but it’s gotten near impossible to find them through our normal wholesale channels. Do you sell directly to retailers? If so, what are the terms?
    Let me know!

  2. Hi Arno,
I was wondering if you will be doing a trad camp in the southwest at all
this year? I got a lot out of the falling and commitment camp last year and would love to do a trad camp, but was looking for one more in my neighborhood. NM,CO,AZ?

    Thanks
    Gina

  3. Hi Gina, thanks for asking. Probably will do one at jtree in CA and perhaps one at City of Rocks, ID. Nothing really in the works for NM or CO. Might do one at Red Rocks, NV, but not certain yet. I’ll send out notices with the eLessons as I schedule them. Arno

  4. Any thought of coming through Prescott?
What would it take to set something up to host you?
There are some rocks around here for climbing too if were looking for workshop sites.

  5. Hi Steve, I’ll be in AZ, probably Phoenix, Tucson, and Sedona. Would be great to do something in Prescott. It’ll be the end of March. What’s the outside weather like during that time? Is there a back up indoor gym or wall where we could go in case the outside weather is too cold, wet, etc? Arno

  6. Hi Steve, See updated schedule for southwest tour locations. Any chance of doing something at Prescott the weekend prior (March 24-25)? Arno

  7. Hi Gina, I’m working on scheduling a trad/mental camp at Indian Creek for October. Stay tuned. Arno

  8. Arno,
That would be fantastic, thanks! I will keep an eye out for your posting.

Thank you for your patience and insight. You helped me identify and push through fears I didn’t even know I had. I learned volumes about my “climbing self” in your clinic. You gave me the gift of experiential knowledge and I intend to honor that gift by incorporating those lessons into all future climbing endeavors (and into any other challenges life has to offer).

  10. Hi Arno,

I hope you’re doing well and having lots of fun this summer.

I wanted to let you know that I took my first “real”, i.e. unplanned, fall while climbing on Mt. Lemmon yesterday. I was planning to climb hard until I fell anyway, and I was kind of disappointed on my first lead that I was able to make the shaky, off-balance reach to the last hold before the anchors – I was hoping I might fall instead. I realize that hoping to fall is not exactly the ideal way to approach climbing, but for me it is such a drastic change from the way I felt prior to our clinic at Rocks & Ropes in March that I’m just thrilled. When I finally did miss a throw yesterday, I fell without tensing up and got right back on the route, no shakes or anything!

    Thank you so much!

I’m headed up to Squamish next week, and my pre-trip training program has included lots of climbing, as well as lots of falling. I feel like I’m ready to go and have a great time, without “chickening out” unnecessarily.

    Thanks again.
