Laura fell in love with climbing at a gym in Detroit, Michigan when she was twelve years old. As a young climber, she split her time between competitive climbing and exploring sandstone crags in the southeast. She began guiding full time after graduating from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management. In 2014, she moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to climb desert splitters and pursue a year-round career in the climbing industry. She now works for Flagstaff Climbing Center, where she instructs indoor and outdoor programs for climbers of all abilities.
Laura attended her first Warrior’s Way clinic as a teenager to address a fear of falling. She quickly realized that the processes she learned extended beyond the world of rock climbing. She is excited to share the material with others as a tool for self-exploration and growth.
Laura is an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor and a Rock Guide. She is a certified Wilderness First Responder and Rope Rescue Technician. When she is not climbing, Laura enjoys trail running, practicing yoga, and playing the violin.
